Grand Canyon, Fishing the Colorado River and Home
We did not have internet our last campsite so I was not able to post. We are back and wanted to catch up on our last major stop, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We stayed in a not-so-great campground about 45 minutes from the North Rim but it was near where we wanted to be and it worked. As you might expect, the scenery was amazing. And not crowded, the North Rim gets only 10% of the visitors of the South. I rode a mule down into the canyon. They are trained to walk on the edge of the canyon and I had to look away a few times. We were lucky enough to spent the day with Tim and Simone who showed us some amazing rock formations and caves. Tim is the brother of one of my Bailey Island neighbors and has lived on the North Rim for many years. This corn cob is over 1000 years old, quite dry in the desert!
