Grand Canyon, Fishing the Colorado River and Home

We did not have internet our last campsite so I was not able to post.  We are back and wanted to catch up on our last major stop, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We stayed in a not-so-great campground about 45 minutes from the North Rim but it was near where we wanted to be and it worked.

As you might expect, the scenery was amazing. And not crowded, the North Rim gets only 10% of the visitors of the South.

I rode a mule down into the canyon.  They are trained to walk on the edge of the canyon and I had to look away a few times.

We were lucky enough to spent the day with Tim and Simone who showed us some amazing rock formations and caves.  Tim is the brother of one of my Bailey Island neighbors and has lived on the North Rim for many years.

This corn cob is over 1000 years old, quite dry in the desert!

Our last day, Susan went fishing with me on the Colorado River.  The river used to carry a large amount of sediment but when they built the dam, it created what was to be a famous trout fishery.  The fishing was fun but the view was insane.

We got into the car after fishing and the climate control on the truck was dead, no power.  When a mouse ran across my leg later in the day, we figured it was a wiring issue, our friend was eating our vehicle.

It was a long ride back but it went well.  We stopped near Dallas to look at a new camper and we will pick it up 9/1/21.  Time for another project.

Thanks for reading and I am sure we will see you all soon.
